A day on the bus

So, a couple days ago, I was on my usual bus commute to school. It is almost an hour-long journey, bumpy and crowded. There is a guy that I see every morning, quiet, reserved and always reading a book. Halfway through the bus ride, he always gives up his seat and lets somebody else sit down. I know it doesn’t sound like much, but in an age of constant competitiveness, it is such a nice gesture. It sort of set the tone for my day, and I had a smile on my face for the rest of it. A simple act of kindness, even though not directed at me, just rippled out. I’m sure if it affected me, it affected more people too. I hope this ripple continues. Be kind. Somewhere down the road, it helps in more ways than one.
